Serendiscity started playing at Victoria Park in Colombo in November, 2006. As Sri Lanka has many NGOs (Non-Government Organizations), some ex-patriots, as well as Sri Lankans, started playing Saturday afternoons for something different to do in the city. The playing crowd is quite transient, as many ex-pat workers are here on short term contracts, but are always looking for some physical activity. The group consists of all types of people: young, old, men, women, who either like running around and want to learn how to throw a frisbee or have been throwing for years. The variety makes every Saturday a different game.

The Serendiscity team that is attending the Chennai Beach Ultimate tournament is a solid team of  3 women and 8 men with ages ranging from 25 to 46.  The team is comprised of people from the United States, England, Spain, Germany, and Australia who will represent the spirit of Sri Lanka their temporary Alma Mater. This will be their first tournament as a team, but do not discount them, they bring many years of Ultimate experience into the tournament.
